Clinical Research Network North West Coast Appoint Jane Tomkinson OBE as Chair
The Clinical Research Network, North West Coast (CRN NWC) has announced the appointment of LHCH Chief Executive, Jane Tomkinson OBE, as Chair of the Network’s Partnership Board with immediate effect.
The Network’s Clinical Director Professor Martin Lombard commented on the announcement: "I am very pleased to announce Jane as the new Partnership Group Chair for the Clinical Research Network in the North West Coast region.
"I have no doubt she will work work tirelessly to support the CRN NWC and Partners to meet their research ambitions across the region.
"I personally look forward to continuing our work with Jane and all our Partners to drive forward the research agenda across Cheshire, Merseyside, South Cumbria and Lancashire for the benefit of patients and public across our regions."
Jane brings over three decades of experience in the NHS both as a Chief Executive Officer of an NHS Foundation Trust, Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, and also past Director of Finance in the NHS.
She has steered LHCH to become the first specialist Trust to be rated as 'outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission. She comes with an exciting background of collaborative and partnership working which was recently demonstrated with the launch of the Liverpool Centre for Cardiovascular Science which is on track to become an internationally renowned research centre.
The Clinical Research Network: North West Coast: The NIHR Clinical Research Network North West Coast is a partnership of 42 NHS Trusts and Clinical Commissioning Groups that help to increase the opportunities for patients to take part in clinical research, ensures that studies are carried out efficiently, and supports the Government’s Strategy for UK Life Sciences by improving the environment for commercial contract clinical research in the NHS in the North West Coast area. The network is hosted by the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital NHS Trust.
